Connecting with Your Kids
“In a world full of hypocrisy, it is so powerful when a child comes home and sees authentic Christianity lived out there.” — Stephen Kendrick
In John 10:10 Jesus told a group of people that His reason for coming was for every individual to have the opportunity to live and experience a fulfilling life — the kind of life their creator originally intended.
As the single greatest influence in our children’s lives, we have the unique opportunity to demonstrate the reality Jesus spoke of — not just words in a book or on a t-shirt, but a consistent example during their formative years of God’s grace, mercy, and unwavering love.
Even if you don’t feel connected or influential in their lives at this moment, you might be astonished to realize the impact your interactions have on shaping the minds and hearts of your children. Although being aware of the external influences on our children’s lives is beneficial, we must be intentional and confident in our influence and ability to affect their lives.
